Here’s the skinny. Two US pilots onboard... the guy in backseat was on his first flight. This was an acceptance flight... happens before delivery to customer and after overhauls. Apparently a small snafu on the ejection seat leading to the plane sitting in the weeds with engines running for awhile and both pilots watching from the sidelines. Not a good look.

Hardware snafu, or operator snafu?

They obviously didn't eject in flight, with the airplane landing itself and rolling out intact. Of course they ejected on the ground.

Reported that they declared an emergency, that implies intentional ejection (would make sense for loss of directional control).

That's why I said "reported" and "implies".
