Death toll is up to 6, 2 pilots and 4 pax. Remains are in such a condition that only DNA will be able to ID them.

There's a video interview with a school bus driver on YouTube. His bus with kids in it was very nearly hit during the crash.

Tahoe in the summer, probable cause usually involves density altitude but presumably a CL crew wouldn't fall for that.

They crashed during landing on a circling approach. DA shouldn’t be a main factor for a CL60

This info was in today's AIN email. I hate to say it but the cause is starting to look pretty obvious, hopefully I'm wrong:

Preliminary flight tracking data shows the aircraft crossing over the extended Runway 11 centerline at 148 knots, about 300 feet above the terrain, less than a mile from the threshold, and descending at 1,125 fpm. The data also shows the aircraft banking in an apparent attempt to recapture the heading for a short final.

Never flown the type, what’s generally your Vref and what speed you normally circle at?
Is it Cat C/D as far as circling mins/speeds are concerned?
I’ve been told previous jet arrival requested the RNAV 11, ATC push you to do the 20 circle to 11?

120ish if you are at min fuel.

138 if you are at max landing weight.

Fair to say you’re Cat C for circling?
Saying that as Cat D is NA….

Just one category now - at least for the LEGALITY reasons.
-605 is Cat C as noted.
if circling puts them above 140 then they 'should' fly at Cat D but it isn't a must anymore.

So, accelerated stall while turning final?

Though we learned this lesson.
