PC-12 2019 Accident Report (PilotError)
https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-n...ource=hs_email
9 dead, 3 injured
Stupid Pilot Tricks:
-12 people on a plane with 10 total seats
-over gross and C/G out of limits
-Pilot stated "They needed to get home" & the airplane was "98% good"
-Deiced with isopropyl alcohol bought at a local hardware store, but the ladder wasn't tall enough to reach the tail. Pilot said the remaining ice "would come off during takeoff".
-icicles were hanging from the horizontal stabilizer bullet fairing
-airport manager admonished the pilot several times, the pilot said "Uh, we're gonna be just fine".
-seconds after takeoff repeated warnings from the stall warning and stick pusher were heard on the CVR.
{FACEPALM} 🤦♂️

Go to the docket and watch the taxi out and takeoff videos. It really doesn't get dumber than this.

Whenever I read about something like this, I can’t help but wonder what the pilot’s mindset was.
Were they scared? Were they convinced they’d be fine and thus had no qualms about this? Were they banking on the fact that they’d gotten away with risky behavior in the past and so this time they’d be okay also?
I cannot imagine thinking that this was in any way a good idea. I’m utterly baffled by this decision making.
Questions we’ll never get the answers to, but could inform how to prevent these types of scenarios in the future, were we able to find out…

CAM-? . Father in Heaven we
ask for a special blessing now that we take off in this
not so great weather and that (Thy) will watch over and
protect us. impress upon the mind of @ [pilot] that he
might know how best to travel this course that we are
about to do and we are thankful for this airplane and
ask that You will watch over and protect us.
Not even God was powerful enough to stop the stupidity of a cowboy pilot.

The pilots experience record throw up a number of red flags; his recorded experience appears to be falsified. His trip times vs. leg lengths are not consistent, and the times are not appropriate for the distances. His insurance form claims do not match his logbook. His logbook records, in turn, are inconsistent, and have minimal description; vague entries are also typical of falsification. Same pen, same hand, no change over time, liberal use of scribbling out, correction tape or fluid, etc.

They had a company pilot as well, but he wasn’t along as they needed all the seats. The two youngest were the ones not occupying seats.
