A319 Smoke Event, Crew abandons Pax

A Vueling Airlines A319 in Barcelona filled with smoke after an explosion. When the lead F/A informed the pilots they were the 1st ones off the jet shortly followed by all but one of the F/A's. Pax were basically left to fend for themselves. One of the F/A's had a "meltdown". The lone remaining F/A started screaming in Spanish for everyone to get off the plane. Passengers compared the pilot's actions to those of the Costa Concordia Cruise Ship who's Captain is currently serving a 16yr Prison sentence. Vueling is owned by IAG which also owns British Airway.

Eh…that wasn’t an explosion type of explosion.
Likely APU issue.

I agree, sounds like an APU issue. But it appears the engines should have been running at that point although I can't be sure. The engine generators should have kicked in after the APU self-destructed so I don't know why it went dark unless they were still pushing back from the gate.
