Default B-737 tanker crash in australia

Has anybody heard any hard data about the cause of the crash? Both pilots walked away.

Joe

Preliminary investigation revealed the earth came up and hit them.

That'll do it.

AA F/O Juan Browne has a video on the crash. Best guess is a CFIT incident. Possible target fixation trying to line up their drop.
Luckily the terrain was fairly forgiving.

Takeoffs always equal landings. Some landings can be rougher than others.

No, they didn't. They were taken to a hospital. They survived.

But, thank God juan is on the case. No need for an investigation, now.

The problem is the way profits from YouTube, etc. set incentives to get likes, clicks, etc.

But you have to choose to play the game.

Juan strikes a decent balance IMO, as does that Swedish guy Peter. I'll watch them because it's easier than googling all the stuff to get some insight into what may have happened.

The other 90% of aviation 'tubers are painful to watch.

CFIT implies they flew it into the ground. As opposed to mechanical, windshear, or severe thermal disruption which can be caused by a big fire.

CFIt would be much more understandable, and is an obvious occupational hazard, when fire-fighting. As opposed to just not knowing where you are in relation to a mountain at night.
