Guardian flight, the parent company, hails from other roots, and has sucked in a number of operators under one umbrella. Go back a little farther, and you'll find quite a few more crashes and mishaps.

Guardian Flight

AMRG

According to this, Care Flight / Remsa Health, is a non-profit, and it sounds like this was their only fixed-wing aircraft? Does that sound right?
Hey Eddie,

No, this definitely wasn’t one of those scumbag type operations and safety was always top priority. When I worked there, it was Summit Air Ambulance, which was acquired by REACH. With all the mergers in the air ambulance sector, AMGR, AMGH, AIR METHODS, etc., I think that it was operated as Care Flight through Guardian. The former CP there, who just left for OMNI, is crushed like we all are.

This is audio of the last minute or two of the PC-12's flight up until impact. It comes from a security camera located 1/4 mile from the impact site. You can clearly hear the prop going supersonic.

Chilling. My former Chief Pilot there had just left for Omni prior to the crash: He is devastated. The pilot was a system float pilot from MI, I believe, and he was experienced with this type of weather. Again, this was not your cliché Part 134 1/2 operation, rather it was a professional operation in the air ambulance community. While it is not impossible to have a co-pilot aboard, part of the consideration for single pilot air ambulance operations is weight because of all the weight of the clinicians and their equipment, especially in rotor wing aircraft. I would love to see CVR’s and FDR’s required by the FAA in all air ambulance aircraft.

That does nothing for accident prevention.

Nothing to prevent that accident. But with information about the cause, future accidents may be prevented.

As they say, safety today is built on learnings from the accidents of yesterday.

True, however we need to make sure it’s not a distraction.
This may have been a case where the aircraft could not outperform the weather.
A second similarly experienced crewmember could have made a difference in the decision making process. This process starts before the flight.

Doesn't tell us much we didn't already know, other than the airplane was going downhill fast, and the prop was still attached, and the engine was working. Not enough to conclude spatial D.
