American Airlines - 1 pilot

I will be flying out to Santa Fe this weekend, and I had a concern.

I just read that American Airlines is only required to have a single pilot to fly an aircraft. I believe most airlines have 2 pilots, but American Airlines only requires 1 pilot.

What happens if the single pilot becomes incapacitated during flight? Does the airplane crash? Do they reach out to passengers to see if they can land the plane? Is there remote control functionality in these aircraft? Have they had an incident where this has happened? If so, what was the outcome?

Find something truthful to read.

I’ve read that American Airlines put your through flight training before you fly, so you can fly the plane is something happens to that one pilot.

I’ve literally read that after I typed it, so it’s must be true.

It is true, only 1 pilot but there is also a dog in the cockpit, and the dog is trained to bite the pilot if he touch anything

Don't worry, flying a plane is easy, get to low pull back on the stick.

yes, we have had numerous pax come up to assist us in flying. Most are fatal crashes, but we’re trying to get better. Maybe you’ll get the call to come up and help us, or maybe you’ll be on one of our many remotely flown aircraft, what a time to be alive!

Not a problem.

You believe anything you read? Or is it justification for a “for cause” drug test?
