1) The CVR can't be used against the pilots by the FAA.
2) Most CBA's have language protecting the pilots from company discipline using the CVR.

I don't know that there was any FAA blowback for the FO.

Whatever Skywest had (not really a CBA) didn't cut it.

But the fundamental caution here is that key people WILL get to hear it or see the transcripts. If they have other info that incriminates you, which they probably do, they'll have to make a decision and you might not want them spring-loaded against you based on your CVR trash-talk.

I'd suggest not throwing unnecessary fuel on the fire. Nobody will be too upset if you comment about what a nice day it is.
