Video on local news shows her nose up the embankment on the side of the runway. Thank God she didn't end up in the water...
Amazingly, the bird looks totally intact. Got to love McDonald Douglas and oldschool engineers. They built them tough~
Pax deplanning via overwing hatches as the nose is not accessible the way she's sitting.
Glad there was not fire and seems like there's no injuries.

Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo (pehn-TAN'-jeh-loh) says the MD-80 went off the runway at around 11:10 a.m. Thursday.
WABC reports that the plane hit a fence. Pentangelo says he can't confirm that.
Pentangelo says the plane is apparently leaking fuel.
It isn't clear how many people were on board or where the flight had originated.

PS) If there is a fuel leak, the CFR folks don't seem to be worried about it. Pax are not running away from the aircraft~
