Default 737 NG Unsafe?

I realize the source of this is rather dubious...Aljazeera. Nevertheless, their sources, experts, and supporting documents seem very legit. Boeing's issues with outsourced manufacturing was and is a problem, most recently on the 787. The video is a bit long, but definitely worth viewing.

Hi!

The 737NG is safe. ALL of the large jet transport aircraft, including the 737NG, have approximately the same accident rate (small, lrg airbus, boeing products, DC-8, DC-9, embraers, bombardiers). The only outlier is the MD-11. The accident rate on the MD-11 is 7x higher than all of the above transport aircraft.

Consider the source on this one!

The 737NG is a very safe airplane, as are all other commercial airplanes. Even the MD-11 is extremely safe, perhaps less so then others, but still far safer than other modes of transport.

I imagine that the 737NG will be flying for a very looooooooooooong time to come.

The specific problem addressed with the 737NG, is not one that becomes immediately evident. I believe their contention is that after the aircraft start showing some age, major problems could arise.

Good thing that the guys who put that AlJazeera report together are "journalists" and not "lawyers".
