American 757 off Runway at JAC

I strongly agree with the above however I do support the spoilers callout on all landings and rejects.
As important as getting rid of lift is to braking effectiveness it should be CERTAIN that the spoilers have deployed.
If you are screaming down a runway with poor braking action and hear nothing after touchdown, did the spoilers deploy and all is well or is the pilot not flying enjoying the winter scenery without a thought to the configuration? You won't know! With the "Spoilers" callout you know that they are in the game, the spoilers have been checked and have indeed deployed.
A simple "Spoilers" or "No Spoilers" is concise and hard to confuse.
Again, besides standard callouts and critical items I vote for the quieter the better.

Since I am just entering the multi-crewed cockpit environment and have had a few ride alongs prior to my start of training, I am AMAZED at the amount of communication and required calls and wonder how I ever did it all on my own. Certainly a different situation and I look forward to challenge.

But these procedures are part of a system which can fly many millions of hours without incident...literally.
Any individual pilot might go years without actually benefiting from the callouts, but somebody, somewhere is going to have his butt saved by the other guy and the double-checking.
I doubt anybody in the know really believes he could fly even one million hours in a fighter and survive. You probably wouldn't make it to one hundred thousand.
