NC Citation crash Friday
|
Yikes that's horrible, looks as if she had fuel on her. How could someone "like" a story like this on fb?
|
Not to get the speculation engine going, but it is a mountain airport and it is likely he was high on approach, dove for the runway, and dropped a wing in an accelerated stall while trying to avoid a hard landing. That would be a good reason never to dive for a runway, use a stabilized approach, and do a go around. We'll see what NTSB says.

Very sad indeed.

Well, that's one way to keep the speculation engine from going... pure, wild speculation.

When does theory not start from basic speculation? Say something substantive. Forming our own theories is not harmful in the study of accidents. If you defer to the pros you are going to get a probable cause statement pointing to the same things you can look at yourself. It would be good to form your own theory and then later when the report comes out see how well it matches or differs from the official conclusion. Just don't get carried away with your theory, that's all.
Forming them and making them public on a open access forum can be. The big difference between your speculati......I mean forming theories and the "pros" you mentioned is that they actually examine evidence BEFORE they develop theories. |
News said the flight originated in Florida and destination was the Macon County airport.
I agree, the damage looks like a lot of fuel onboard. |
