Airline WX Delays
So my wife's flight outta DFW-ORD was delayed tonight due to weather, but she told me that UAL flights were leaving on time...
She is flying out on Spirit so I'd assume the radar equipment on their A320's are comparable to UAL's. Could the delay have just been the Captain's decision? ...or do different airlines have different allowable departure minimums? Thanks for any insight. |
here's some insight.
You pay rinkydink prices you get rinkydink product.
Send your wife on spirit a few times and then hire your divorce attorney. |

Airlines play the WX card to get out of giving hotel or food vouchers. It's not just the low cost carriers, Delta cancelled on me a few months back out of JFK. Landed, got a ride to the terminal, checked my bag, walked to the gate, the flight was cancelled. I asked about a voucher, the agent went behind the counter and came back and said it was a WX cancellation so no voucher.
I pointed they still had 32 flights leaving that evening but all she could say was I was rebooked on a flight the next day. The nearest WX we saw coming in was in Pennsylvania. I figured the outbound crew was going to time out. |

So, I can confirm that there are arrival delays into ORD this evening due to weather. Everyone is trying to catch up. I just checked UAL's website for all of their DFW-ORD flight this afternoon -- 1 cancelled, all the others were/are delayed at least 2 hours. Everyone is delayed into ORD tonight; Spirit, United, American, everyone. |
