Default Rupert Murdoch Industry Wide safety expose.

It would seem that you guys have pi##ed off ol' Rupert Murdoch. Rupy don't like it when the pesky employees counter decisions made by boards of directors / experts.

The first is a shameless gem of gutter journalism, it ticks all the boxes:

Dossier reveals mid-air safety scares every month
Includes planes too close, unsafe landings, malfunctions
Many events escape investigation due to staffing issues
Qantas is a domestic goddess who cuts spending

Passengers flying blind to safety scares | News.com.au

The second is more of a UK styled expose with interactive headlines like; explore air incidents near you and ATSB case files.

planes-too-close-unsafe-landings-spark-special-probe | Herald Sun

The truth is of course, no change in Australia. News corp has based its allegations, 'thousands of incedents', on these;

During the flight, the pilot reported being uncertain of the aircraft's position and requested ATC Navigational assistance... or

Aircraft entered holding pattern with an incorrect direction of turn... there's a few of these.. but there's allot of ..

The aircraft entered controlled airspace without clearance, mostly from small obscure airfields.

That being said of course Aus had its fair share near misses. We are statistically average as far as air safety goes.

Scaring pax and giving credence to CEOs like Alan Joyce's 'cut costs at all costs' mentality is more of a risk to air-safety than a million of these ATSB safety chits collected from a million pilots. imho..
