Will be interesting to see if it's a fatigue/failure issue and the landing was within normal limits, or if it was skill.

I saw a guy flare too late on 15 once. The drop off before the threshold is huge - the radio altimeter callouts are late. We left a flap track cover on the runway in an MD11.

The accident aircraft had sustained another similiar accident under its previous tail number N701GC already which collapsed the right main gear, see Accident: Centurion MD11 at Montevideo on Oct 20th 2009, right main gear damage. The tail number changed from N701GC to N988AR in 2010.

Once it's been determined that there are no injuries, ALPA Legal recommends that you get your "backside" out of the country ASAP!
