Really. I stand by what I wrote. Taxi at a speed commensurate with conditions.

I always found the 737 light on it's feet, with a tendency to weather vane.

“It was kind of like a bang, then the plane went on its side a little,” said Carlson, who was heading home after spending Christmas with her children in Oakdale and Lake Grove.
Carlson, 69, said the pilot came on the intercom soon after and explained what happened.

“He said it was very dark and he couldn’t see,” she said.

I sort of find it funny that the usual SWA guys on this forum haven't chimed in yet to defend it the incident. I actually want to hear what you SWA guys think of this.

The best thing to do when its very dark and you can't see well ahead of you is to press onwards. I'm sure thats what their manuals say.

They're waiting for us SWA haters to attack them based on incomplete information, and making assumptions about pilots we don't know but lump all together, to defend pilots they also don't know, based on incomplete information.

IHSWA, but I have no idea what happened in this case. Let's wait for the facts to come in so we can know how they screwed this up and why they screwed it up.

i agree. a lot of times on icy days even at the busiest airports taxiways can be okay and ramps be full of surprises. and a place like islip isn't as busy as jfk, its a good question to ask.

Default Southwest Airlines veers off runway Islip

In all honesty, my gut feel is that SWA has a disproportionate number of ground incidents.

However, I don't know the real numbers. Does anyone know if SWA has more incidents, or do they just seem I get more attention on the forums?
