I know the FO. I went to flight school with him. He's facebook friends with my fiancé and I just found out. Theres a picture of his dinner from the cockpit last night. Very eery and really sad. RIP brother...

Anyone who wants the name of the FO can PM me. I was hoping Facebook was wrong, but I've got information confirmed by his family. I apologize, but I don't have the names of the other crewmembers.

These guys at national are absolutely great guys and topnotch aviators.

National Air Cargo d/b/a National Airlines is how I've always seen it referred to as.

IATA: N8
ICAO: NCR
CALL: National Cargo

Just stumbled on their Flickr account. N949CA pictures everywhere. I guess there is a picture that was taken of the aircraft three days ago at Hill A.F.B. floating around as well. Very sobering.

I think this is the aircraft they did their 747 proving runs with also.

I knew one of the 8 crew members as well. He was my instructor. He's an FO as well. Do you know if your friend was the actual FO or deadheading to Dubai. Sad part was this was my buddy's last leg of a 2 week trip before deadheading back to DTW. RIP.
