Lot of lessons learned on this incident and also a good deal of luck.

According to Wiki it was repaired and flew on for years with a number of airlines before ending up as a restaurant in S. Korea...yes, a restaraunt.

I wonder if the crew ever flew again, since it was a case of pilot error.

Wow ... what a big mistake the crew made and how lucky they are that nobody was killed.

Does anyone remember the Vegas commercials where what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas ?
My understanding is that it was basically the same attitude where companies back in the day kept internal business to themselves and then the internet came along and unfortunately changed all of that .
I'm posting the report as I schould have done in the beginning and an interesting note is the damage the a/c received in particular this -

The ,impact damage .failed the Nos.
1, 3,.and 4 hydraulic systems. Metal debris that
struck the ‘right horizontal stabilizer passed
through the stabilizer structure and into the
right elevator. This particular ,missile passed
within 4 inches of the No. 2 hydraulic system
lines and boost package for the right inboard
elevator and was within 4 inches of completely
disabling’the aircraft flight controls.

It,s an interesting read .
