Midair Collison at Reno

Can't post the details because I'm on my phone, but I'm surprised this didn't make here. Supposedly a mid air, at least one is an L-39 it looks like, missing half the vertical stab and did a gear up landing after. Don't know about the other aircraft, but I'm curious. Both pilots ok, again according the initial story I saw.

Those pilots are very capable and experienced.
It is a dangerous environment to be flying in.

hawgdriver - imagine your 3-6 wingman each competing for the space around you instead of an orderly formation flight where you as the lead are directing most actions.

They may be skilled...but whack a few more spectators, and... and away she goes, can you say Cleveland?

which sucks, I'm sure between NASCAR and F1 etc just as many spectators have been maimed/killed, but you don't hear calls to ban them.
