Gravity, it's not just a good idea, it's the law.

I know it's hard for some pilots on here to admit they are wrong. But after seeing the new video shot by Fred Hayes that CNN is running, I'm going to give the unreliable eyewitness reports of "cartweeling" an OK.

My thoughts as well. Although probably not 'technically' correct, its about the closest word to describe it as possible. maybe a pirouette?

Scary stuff!

This "expert" on CNN along with Don Lemon are makig me want to pull my hair out...and Im basically bald!!! That video is very chilling though. What were they doing that low??? The fact that the GS and PAPIs were OTS should not have affected these pilots.

More stupidity from news stations....Fox News interviewed a former SouthWest Flight Attendant about "what happened". I`m sure this blond beauty could tell them all about what went on during the final 15 seconds before the prang.

NTSB just reported on the CVR. Configured for landing and a normal approach, first comment was a crew member calling to increase speed 7 sec prior to impact VAPP was 137 kts, 4 sec prior stick shaker thrust levers were increased, 1.5 sec prior to impact a crew member called for a go around. Both engines responded normally. Aircraft was "below approach speed". Prior to the thrust levers being advanced the thrust levers were at idle. Best cliff notes in could type out during the NTSB briefing in FOX news

And the NTSB chairwoman, in the slowest voice possible, said the approach speed was significantly less than 137 knots.
