Where is the the NTSB Chair? Her quarterbacking skills are required.
"At :60 seconds prior to impact, the CA remarked "lookin good." At :55 seconds prior to impact, the FO stated "yup, stable." The FDR showed the autothrottles were off (or not working, we aren't sure, but hey it's the new NTSB so take this informatin anyway)."
She continues...... "At 100 feet above the ground, the airplane says "One hundred." Then at 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 feet respectively, the airplane says to the pilots 50, 40, 30, 20, 10. The sound of touchdown is recorded :08 seconds prior to impact. The nose is lowered and then the sound of collapse is recorded at :00 impact. There are noises associated with belly grinding against the runway. I will hold the next press briefing at 0800 tomorrow morning."
