SWA LGA Gear Up Landing
#22
Where is the the NTSB Chair? Her quarterbacking skills are required.
"At :60 seconds prior to impact, the CA remarked "lookin good." At :55 seconds prior to impact, the FO stated "yup, stable." The FDR showed the autothrottles were off (or not working, we aren't sure, but hey it's the new NTSB so take this informatin anyway)."
She continues...... "At 100 feet above the ground, the airplane says "One hundred." Then at 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 feet respectively, the airplane says to the pilots 50, 40, 30, 20, 10. The sound of touchdown is recorded :08 seconds prior to impact. The nose is lowered and then the sound of collapse is recorded at :00 impact. There are noises associated with belly grinding against the runway. I will hold the next press briefing at 0800 tomorrow morning."

You have lost quite a bit of credibility though with your obsessive criticism of Chairwoman Hersman.

Too much flappin in the wind. Someone’s gust aileron-lock is broken, me thinks.

Sorry guys...Gotta go with ShyGuy on this one. The NTSB has given a lot of 'facts' to the media regarding Asiana and watched them run with their half-truths. A little irresponsible if you ask me. Seems like a lot of grandstanding on Hersman's part trying to become a celebrity.

I flew the 73NG for a couple years. Why are some of the spoiler panels still up? It looks like the crew probably put the speedbrake lever down because the ground spoilers are retracted, but what's up with the outboard spoilers? Kinda odd.

What actuates the spoilers? If there was hydraulic damage to the assiciated system during the landing, is it possible they are frozen in place?

That's gotta be the most uneventful thing I've ever seen in my life. Some of my rollouts are harder than that and I have all the gear working fine!
I also see that on Huffpost the headline reads, "Plane crash lands at New York airport" Seriously? I mean, I shouldn't be surprised but come on.
