Probably about the same feeling the C17 guys had in FL not too long ago.

And YES, I KNOW, the C17 is made for short field performance, just sayin'.......

I respect 99% of what you say, but I really hate when people say what you just said.

Sure can. When I flew C-21s (Lear 35), we had a guy flying a jet up to LFI one night and he accidentally landed at PHF. It was a CAVU night, but sometimes it really helps to have that localizer dialed in.

I flew up to RAP one day and we both had a double take when we saw both RAP and RCA's runways lined up. Sure enough, a few months later a regional jet landed at RCA by mistake...easy to do there if you get even a bit complacent.

Not sure what happened in this case, but seems easy to confuse the runways there.

Why? It's a reality of flying airplanes. And who knows, IT COULD EVEN HAPPEN TO YOU.

Eh, it was 10 years ago. Memory seemed to serve up the image of a regional jet. Either way, those runways seem to have been designed to confuse pilots on a long visual approach.

No worries. Hey man, "it could happen to anybody".

But El Paso and a few others are part of the same evil conspiracy.

Yeah that def wasn't an RJ, haha.

As long as you keep the right amount of crosschecks in a modern jet airliner, it will never happen to you. Every one of these is a case where they bit off on what they saw and stopped their crosscheck.

It's like the guy that told me about landing with the gear up... "there are those who have and those who will." What??

Theoretically, yes.

But history has proven, and will continue to prove that "it can happen to anybody".
