Talon Air fined
FAA: Talon Air let unqualified pilots to fly
The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $150,000 penalty against Talon Air for allowing four pilots to fly on at least 64 flights without proper training, in violation of federal regulations, the agency said.... |
Sounds like they were "qualified". Company probably screwed them around which is reason that they lapsed..
The article makes it sound like they let a bunch of kids fly the airplane. |
Definitely sounds like 3 of the pilots hadn't gone to recurrent or had .293/.297/.299 rides within the proper timeframes. Don't know what to make out of the 4th pilot and something about an unqualified CFI. It certainly is part of the company's job to schedule the required training within the timeframe and they, and the pilots, should both know if they are not qualified to operate legally.
