Hit the ground so hard the tires compressed enough to damage the wheels themselves?

Damn. Surprised there aren't considerably more injuries.

Garuda should get a pretty penny from them for the additional damage...just glad that happened during landing and not takeoff.

Another Lion Air plane landed 5 hours later and blew tires because they did not clear the runway of all the fod.
