Any info on Fallon mishap

Does anyone have info on what happened or who the pilot was? I know they didn't release initially, but not sure if any further info has come out. Please PM if you feel more comfortable that way. Thanks.

I understand the need and desire for information -- I cannot pass anything, but I would say that anything spat out today is based on pure speculation. We owe it to ourselves to wait for the AIB/SIB to be released.

There is absolute bare minimum discussion on BO.net

The name has been released.

I went to TBS and Primary with him. He was a good man. God bless him and his family.

Sorry to hear that Tummy. :(
None of the articles have mentioned what squadron he was with or what squadron the plane was from - Beaufort or Miramar. Do you know?

Last I heard, he was in VMFA-232, but I don't know if he was still assigned to that squadron or if the aircraft belonged to the Red Devils.

Lloyd, thanks for the website info.
VMFA(AW)-242 out of Japan is the organizer of the website, not sure if he was TAD for training or if that was his previous command. He was a student of mine in at VT-9 in Meridian in 2006...horrible loss for family and our country.

The jet actually belonged to VMFA-323, a Lot 15 C. Not sure if Eyeore was still assigned to 242 or not, but I think he was.
