As pilots we have the privilege of not needing anybody else to crucify us, you will be judged and condemned by your colleagues without due process nor a shred of evidence.......!

Until it is proven otherwise, I'll consider the flight crew as two more victims in this horrible crime.

Neither did the Egypt Air 767.

just one word: bigot.

the amount of ridiculous, wild a$$ speculation here is astounding. for professionals who rely on empirical evidence to do our jobs, where assumption can kill you, the balderdash that posters come up with here is ridiculous.

if this was a thread on a chemtrailing forum, i could see it. but "airline pilot central" ... ??

give me a break.

That's a pretty high horse you rode in on, Pard. I think Jungle has an adequate ability to analyze the limited facts here. I'm sure he's speculating, just as I am. I think that's still okay on an entertainment forum.
The last 1400 years of history, and in particular the past four decades of current events, give some hint of how minds trained in a particular ideology operate.
Per chance, do you work at the TSA? That would explain the political correctness. Lack of assumption can kill too.

Why would you think it is a crime? Until proven otherwise, why would you assume it was a hijacking?

No one knows what has happened here except that the A/C has disappeared in what appears to be a deliberate manner, that is a crime! What I'm not going to engage in is assumptions of whodunit! and wild speculation, everyone doing this is just talking out of their rear end

But damaging it such that it keeps flying for hours is getting really improbable.

But an object hitting and disabling the cockpit could not re-program the FMS, so the fact that the plane was on a new flight plan pretty much rules out collision with anything.

Unless some 777 dudes have a good explanation how pilots fighting a problem could accidentally load an old flight plan into the FMS (maybe while trying to return to land), deliberate action is now probably the horse in the lead.
OK, point taken. Just grasping for ideas.

This circling of the wagons is cute.

I haven't "gone after" anyone because they're a Moderator. UAL T38 Phlyer is still a Moderator, right? I didn't go after him. On the contrary, I used 2 model examples of him posting substantive responses in a respectful way, as any good forum participant would be expected to do.

I took issue with the condescending and disrespectful way in which one particular Moderator was treating a new member of the forum, and then another who saw the need to add a smart alec remark about feelings and trophies. I know you guys don't have a personal stake in the success or failure of this website, but I would think the owners don't want you running off good business.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I am not aware of any requirement to always agree with Moderators. Is there one?

Tell you what, make that a rhetorical question. There's no need to hijack this thread any further.

They can't call if they are already dead. If the plane was depressurised when there was only 1 pilot on the flight deck 238 people couldn't break back in before they suffocated. Maybe that is why it climbed? I don't think we will ever know the full story. No CVR will have any conversation or any struggle recorded.

Every scenario is a bad one. Unfortunately crashing maybe the best one. But I expect there will be security repercussions, more tacking of aircraft and more security for the flight crew.

Best post in this thread yet!

We can all speculate until we're blue in the face, but that won't change the requisite need for facts, research, and an lengthy, detailed investigation.

Let me guess, you also think jungle is a racist and a homophobe? Just wondering because those three words are always used together and thrown around like it's going out of style.
