That's really sad. At least they died for something glorious. I guess there's a reason not many people hold that world record after all.

His father, who was flying with him is a regular poster on a Beechcraft forum I'm on.
He is still missing last I heard. They found Haris' body at the start of the search.
Sucks. They were doing something that few can, and even fewer that could would even attempt.

Sounds familiar to that girl and her idiot dad that tried doing something similar back in the 90's. Didn't they auger a cardinal in Colorado?

Who dreams of flying around the world? I am already burned out on flying single engine piston's at 1300 hours.

This is basically a rehash of our concerns in that other thread.
At least "Amelia Earhart" made it. In a glass cockpit. At age 31. With another pilot.
"We had dual GPS and synthetic vision, and that's why we were able to complete the flight!" (Yes, she says this.)
