Oshkosh Crash

Just spoke with my Dad who was flying into KOSH this morning and had to divert to KMSN due to the field at Oshkosh being closed because of a crash. Anyone have any details on this? Happens every year. Prayers go out to the injured. People seem to just check out of everything flying in there and accidents happen. Hopefully it's just bent metal and broken prides.

Plane crashes at Oshkosh airport | FOX 11 Online | WLUK-TV

OSHKOSH – A plane crashed at Wittman Regional Airport Thursday morning, closing the airport and sending two people to the hospital.

EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the plane crashed around 9 a.m. on the southeast side of the airport. It was unclear what kind of plane it was.

There were two people on board. They were both taken to the hospital. One of the victims, a 74-year-old Kentucky man, was listed in critical condition at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. An update was not available on the other victim.

The airport was closed for about an hour after the crash.

FOX 11 is working on this story and will have more details on fox11online.com as they become available.

UPDATE-3: Pilot dies after plane crash at E

RIP and prayers to the family & friends. Grew up in Oshkosh and unfortunately, with these headlines. The local news agencies in the area have at least learned to become less sensational about crashes over the years, as every crash has taught them the nuances of every situation and that each one is a tragedy, not just a story.
