Looks like Key West, gas in Tallahassee, bound for Mt Vernon, IL.

No post crash fire to speak of. Fuel starvation?

You get the feeling that the precip they entered might have had lumps in it.

And/or ice.

I guess you'd have to know how much gas they put on in TLH. A top-off or...?

Anyone know the range on that type when full up? The media said he'd been a pilot for 30 years, I would hope he knew the range, and the winds, and wx along the route.

It's truly amazing that little girl found her way out of those woods, at night, to the nearest house, barefoot, shorts, t-shirt, in 30 degree weather.

The good day range is 850+, the TLH/Mount Vernon was 605, however he had to be closing in on the 1370 max load at T.O., Maybe with full tanks, maybe not. He may have been carrying ice and screwed his fuel est. That is one strong kid, I would have stayed with the wreckage and froze......I'm guessing he flew that route every year.

I've been trying to follow the Ky./Seneca accident, anybody know why it doesn't show up on the NTSB monthly list?

I found this strange as well. It's not as if the accident site was so remote that an investigator couldn't have gotten there by now...

Is there a time performance requirement for NTSB investigators?
