Pilot confirmed dead in Blue Angels crash. RIP brother.

WARich 06-02-2016 02:12 PM

Tough day, what are the odds of this happening? Both a Blue Angle and Thunderbird crash on the same day. Wow......

And they were both the #6 jet of each team.

Seriously!! wow....the odds are amazing. A nickel for the Blue Angle. Something tells me the dude probably saved some lives by staying with the jet rather than punching, or punched too late......God Speed....

Greyhairdwonder 06-02-2016 06:38 PM

#6 of both teams. Crazy coincidence.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Based on what little info I've heard from the local news, I'm convinced he died a hero. I drive through that area every time I commute and it is highly residential and commercial. He came down a few hundred yards from an apartment complex and bowling alley.

Condolences to the friends and family of Blue Angel Capt. Kuss, tailwinds.

The Thunderbird, Major Alex Turner was in FLL at the beginning of May. Friend of mine met him, said he couldn't be a nicer guy. Thank God he ejected safely.

Tough day for the demonstration teams.

I was present many years ago when Lt. Nick Hauk, rode one of the solo's into the ground at a T-bird demo; it was the last year they flew T-38's. The surrounding area was heavily populated. I snapped a picture as the opposing solo flew by, knife-edge. It's notable because the Talon is crashing as the picture was snapped.

It's easy to forget, while watching the grace and symmetry of the demonstration, that the consequences for error or mechanical failure are never far away.

Not really.....it wasn't about the crash itself - it was about the memorial (which no one has posted about before) and to share the fact that there was such a memorial dedicated to the lost Marine.
