Too bad we don't have snickers in the snack basket...dang. We were voted the best forums on APC. Don't kill the vibe brah.
Quote: Look guys, it's like I always tell my FOs as we single engine taxi to 25R from the box-- "save the fuel, save the job"
This is actually quite true. I've heard from a few check airmen that AA especially looks at how much single engine taxi time we have per flight, and at least as of a year and a half ago, we lag far behind Envoy and Republic's 175 single engine taxi times. Combine that with the fact that even though the FOM says that you "should" not go above 40% N1 while taxiing, it actually means that you can (don't worry, I got it in writing from some chief pilots back in the day, and I'm sure you can do it too if there's a worried captain). Once I pieced that together, I single engine taxiied every time I was at Compass, since I bid avoid the snow in the winter.
Quote: Squeezed a Republic newbie for some intel. Said they cancelled a few months of classes early next year even though they still need pilots.

So...#mergerconfirmed or nah??

Not cancelled, delayed 2 months to allow training backlog to clear out. Only upgrade classes for Feb/Mar.

I agree, for sure. I like how the airplane handles with one engine rather than two - it holds it's speed really nicely. I think the concern was just that above 40% there is increased risk for FOD damage, right? But not prohibited and very useful sometimes! (like on takeoff )

Just for clarification's sake, Republic didn't cancel classes, they postponed them to allow for upgrades.
When did SEA switch from the Coast Gateway to the La Quinta for commuter hotels?
