Taxing out of ramp one on Lima with instructions to transition to Mike at Juliet. As we approached ramp 4 or 5 Southwest called for taxi. Told to follow the 757 on Lima which was us. Instead they bolted out in front of us. We were going slow (15 knots or so) however there were a dozen aircraft in line for departure. They were chastised by ground and said sorry thought they were following a different 757 that was long past. After turning on to Lima instructed to transition to Mike at Juliet. They read that back and then stated they could accept a intersection departure at M16 and were fully ready! Long pause and ground said, "You're not from around here are you!".

So the funny thing here is a dumb SWA comment? Your Delta nose wheel departs the airplane and rolls away. Look away, Dixieland.

It’s funny how DL guys think they know ATL so much better than anyone else. We get it, you do like 1000 flights a day there. It’s just another big airport like all the other ones we all go too. Not special. Ya, SW probably made a dumb mistake or just didn’t pay attention. Meanwhile, we taxied out behind a DL bus in Denver one morning. For whatever reason, this guy felt the need to narrate every single thing he did like it was a CTAF.

“Delta xxx is switching to tower” (wasn’t told to)
“Delta xxx is rolling” (who ever says this unless asked to??)
“Delta xxx is in the turn” (on an RNAV SID.. )
“Delta xxx is switching to departure” (not told to)

All completely unnecessary babble on the frequency completely unwarranted by the controller. We all have pilots who do and say dumb stuff. Is what it is.

I included all my favorite Delta stereotypes. Can you really not find the humor in that audio?

Ridiculously embarrassing. Apologies for the cowboys amongst us. Most of “those types” had no other prior 121 time and don’t know what it means to operate airliners like the rest of the world does.

It wasn’t a funny SWA comment. It was a cringe-worthy one.

Yeah I guess. We just have so many better ones to choose from. Hard to top the Coal Roller or Tripple-G.

Come to find out guy that the guy who was Rolling Coal through SJO is actually a liberal that was making fun of Texas bubbas. Just flew with someone who knows them and that's what they claim. It all makes more sense that way.

Quote: Meh, it was probably "go home" leg!

...and did it really take THREE HOURS to get that aircraft off the runway?
Turns out when the nose gear axel is sheared there is a bit of Mx to do before it can be safely towed.
