"Angela, while I am trying to locate all the neccesary paperwork as
stated below I am confused about this paragraph.

- Copies of tax returns and W-2s (1-800-829-1040 to request tax
returns)**See Note Below**

-Tax & W-2 Forms: You will need tax form if one of the following
applies to you:

- A business you worked at in the past 5 years is now out of
business

- You were self-employed within the past 5 years

- Any unemployment gaps greater than 6 months (these gaps can be
covered with school transcripts if applicable)

If you have verified your previous employer's numbers and contact
personnel for our verification, you do not need to provide any tax forms
for that time frame.

Do I need W2's regardless of the above conditions and I need tax returns
if one of those conditions applies? Or if none of those conditions apply
and my employment can be verified, do i need neither tax returns nor
W2's."

her response .........

You will only need tax forms if on of those situations apply to you.

Angela

but there is a difference between tax returns and W2's and she still did not answer my question....someone else's opinion please?

I see what you mean. I've read my email a few times myself. And yep, it's obscure.

The following items will help you to complete the necessary paperwork. If you do not have one of these documents in time for the interview, we will give you instructions to send us the information prior to class.

This paragraph tells me the following is not required, but recommended in order to help us fill out the paperwork they will have for us.

Copies of tax returns and W-2s (1-800-829-1040 to request tax returns)**See Note Below**

Hmmm, looks like I may have to call the IRS. However, the above paragraph, the one that is in italics in this post, and BOLD UNDERLINED in the email still suggest that this will not be nescessary because they say they will provide instruction to send us (ExpressJet) the information prior to class.

**Tax & W-2 Forms: You will need tax form if one of the following applies to you:

q A business you worked at in the past 5 years is now out of business

q You were self-employed within the past 5 years

q Any unemployment gaps greater than 6 months (these gaps can be covered with school transcripts if applicable)

If you have verified your previous employer’s numbers and contact personnel for our verification, you do not need to provide any tax forms for that time frame.

None of these three notes applies to me. I have a 3 month unemployment gap Sep - Jan, college transcripts that show class Jan - May, then employment and school May - present. However I believe I have the same question as you.

1: Do I need all W-2's. And then do I have to show tax forms if I qualify on one of the above 3 notes for the times that I qualify?

2: Do I only need W-2's and tax forms if I qualify on one of the above 3 notes for the times that I qualify?

I am bringing all tax forms and W-2's that I can get in one day. I'll be able to present them if they ask. I don't qualify on any of the three notes and can prove it. The bolded and underlined text in the email says bringing this would help us to fill out ExpressJet's paperwork at the interview. If we don't have this they will provide info on how to get the info to XJT. I am also brining a printed copy of the email.

I worry about the DD-214 long form. It's hard for me to get that, since it's an extremely protected document. Mines in storage. Other airlines have understood that I don't take that document anywhere with me. The other airlines that I have interviewed have my other certified copies. I've got certified copies of the short form, but may take me a few days to get the long form.

I am bringing what I can. The paragraph says that it will only help us and they will show us how to get the info to them if we don't have it. So I think we will be okay. I mean, damn, they can't expect me to still have my W-2 from that Guadalupe sweat shop I worked in when I was 4yrs old.

Remember what the first line says:

Create two packets which include one copy of each of the following documents stapled together in this order:

Not having TWO packets STAPLED will get us the boot.

It would be so much easier if they just asked us to explain Einstiens Theory of Relativity.

Good luck to all. I'm sure we will do fine. C'Ya.

I hope all the formatting works.

relax boys not having all the paperwork isn't gonna boot you automatically. the tax form is unnecessary if you have been working or in school. they didn't even look at most of our paperwork until we came back after we already got the job. good luck and pm me with any question my interview was in aug so I'm still kinda fresh on the whole experience

Take the DD-214 and have 5+ notorized copies made for things like this. You are correct to protect the document. Good luck on your interview.
