Quote: From my NTSB accident report probable cause: "an in flight collision with a deer..."
Did the incident occur in the early morning hours of 25 Dec?

I don't know if this is a funny or crazy story, but it is really unusual.

On Friday I was flying trips through JFK. We went in & out 4 times. Every time we were on time. No holding. The gate was open. Rampers were there. We pushed out and were cleared to taxi without a delay. We were never worse off than #5 for departure.
Weird.

But it gets weirder.

Yesterday we're doing a Newark turn. No ground delay program. No holding. Normal speed the whole way. The ramp did a 25 min turn. We pushed early. Number 4 for departure. We almost had to delay ourselves for the 2 minute engine warm up!

It gets wierder yet.

Today we go from DCA to LGA. The very first center controler we talk to clears us direct to AGARD on the Korry arrival. Then we get a request for 300 kts or better. After the decent (with no holding over Robinsville) direct dials, cleared for the Expressway visual. We're 20 minutes early, and the gate is OPEN! On a 1 hr scheduled flight.

JFK. EWR. LGA. All on time. Every leg. For three straight days.

Scary stuff.

I'd look at that as a disappointment. So many chances to pad the paycheck and you got hosed on all of them!

I had one of those days awhile ago when a ramper actually did a lav service without being told. I wanted to take a picture.

Here's a funny one. About 6 months ago, I was getting coffee at Starbucks. A woman apporached me and said that here son was in high school and was interested in becoming an airline pilot. She wanted to know how he could do that. I had a few minutes so I told her. When finished, she looked at me and said: "Oh, I thought the airlines just hired people and taught them how to fly?"
