Is AE still doing the their own physical before training?

They sure are. All day physical at AA medical Dallas.

Now it just consists of a hearing test, 2 drug tests, and fingerprinting...takes roughly an hour

Ok, which is it? I assume that JR has given an update to the first post and is correct. That is much more reasonable than what they used to do. So do they do they still do a vision test or is that no more?

Thanks

no vision...just the three things i listed above...current as of two days ago

Thanks JR. I assume you just got hired. Congrats

I will be filling out an online app next week right after I get my new first class medical. How long did it take to get the call after you applied? How long did it take to interview? Do they do a sim? If so, what kind of sim?

Thanks for the info

Call back was pretty quick...couple of days. Set up the interview two weeks out...so as to have plenty of time to prepare. Sim was Focker F100...if you make it to the sim...its no big deal...just fly and have fun.

So far I have heard Focker F100, B707, and ATR for the sim. It sounds like it would be tough to fly an approach in an airplane you've never flown while on an interview which makes it even tougher.

Not necessarily. All aircraft are inherently the same. They should provide you with the proper aircraft configurations needed for each phase of flight. At least this is my expereince when going into an unfamiliar sim ride.

I wouldn't sweat the sim, if you have half a brain you can fly the thing to the standards they are looking for. Go to aviationinterviews.com and look up the gouges on Eagle, people update them often and theyre dead on, I've been to a few companies, interviewed at a few more and think eagle is one of the easiest I've been to.
