CFIs: Do you love your employer?

I am looking for a GREAT place to be a CFI/I/MEI. Is anyone out there a CFI really enjoying where they work, feeling that they are being appreciated, paid reasonably well, able to fly a wide range of airplanes, twins, glass? OK, so all this one flight school is maybe too good to be real but I just thought I would ask. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I will go anywhere if the job is good!

Over 30 a/c from a 152 to 182 to warrior to seminole to super decathlon to extra 300. 5 of the planes are G1000 and 75% of fleet is newer than 2000.

You will fly over 100 hours/ month every single month.

These are pretty good folks, maybe a little disorganized, but well intentioned. They have Cessnas, Light Tiwns, biz jets, and I heard they are getting some glass trainers. They train many JAA students for European airlines so there is a higher-than-usual opportunity for MEIs. They employ both JAA and FAA CFI's, and usually staff the jets from their CFI ranks.

I love Spartan College in Tulsa, you make enough money to live in a box by the river, eat canned beans, and just about never have a seminole available for multi training. Its fantastic....also what makes it a good place is by the time you get to the airlines, your so used to being done over by management that the airlines won't suprise you.

for spartan its $13.00/hr, but you can figure on getting half of that since you get paid when the prop is turning...soo about $6.50 an hour if you are here for 8 hours. I have had to put in 14 hours just to get 8 hrs of pay in though.

Try Palm Beach Flight Training down in Lantana, FL. I was there for a short time, but I made a killing money-wise. About 80% of their fleet are 2000 or newer, and I think 8 of them have the G-1000. Everything from a LSA aircraft to a Piper Arrow. They were working on getting a twin online when I left. From what I hear through the grapevine is that pay went up to about $29/hr. I wish I would have stayed, because I'd be making WAY BETTER money than I am now...

...plus I would still be in FL and not in the freezing cold Northeast!

I can honestly say that I really do love my CFI job. It is, without question, the best job I've ever had. I get paid very well and the bosses are just outstanding human beings.

Starting is $40k, instrument instructors are making $45k and MEIs are making $50k. Plus, there's a bonus program that can add up to $10k a year to your salary.

When you get to the instrument stage, you do not have to give endorsements and even for starting instructors, there are no checkride signoffs.

The catch is the you have to have 500 hours and 200 dual given to be considered.

I did 1600 hours of instruction at many schools and they all sucked. I can't think of one good one to work at. Sorry. Good luck.

I work for one of the Cessna Pilot Centers here in Kansas, great place to fly brand new 172's both steam and G1000, but there is no multi even in the surrounding area to fly, much less instruct in. Pay is great (35/flt. hr.) but not salary, they often have openings at the Cessna Employee Flying Club in Wichita... just gotta worry about finding the Multi time... so far I love it.
