I heard that they are closing the ATL base. Is this true?

They're losing the 900's so I don't see much use for it to stay. I'm not sure if they're basing some 200 crews there now or not. I know they were trying to bring 200's through there alot more back in the day.

Did you hear that? Source?

only FACT in aviation....
Don't believe it until you are sitting in it and collecting a paycheck from it.

Heard from a Pinnacle FA that it's closing in Nov...I'm ATL based with S5. Just wondering if we're gonna get some Delta flying outta there instead of doing all United trips.

The company hasnt addressed the ATL -900 "Wind Down" yet. All we know, is that those aircraft are scheduled to leave over 1Q 2013.

As far as keeping the base around, who knows?!

Because flight attendants are the best place to go for solid information. Dont know where she pulled that one feom since there has never been a mention of november. If FAs were right we'd be flying 707s out PIA for Qatar.

At Eagle, the FA union notified the FAs about the closure of the SJU base before the pilots (ALPA) found out. So, it could happen.

It wasn't an attack, just sayin. I get a real kick out of some of our flight attendants. There a few who are almost as bad as some of our pilots. I guess I forgot that we pilots aren't the only crews being affected by this. Foolish of me.

Yeah they have. The specific wind down dates for the ATL 900s is in the latest 10-K filing. They are going away.
