Golden Day Denial

Has anyone ever been denied the golden days they requested on the bid due in icrew for the following month? It's never happened to me until the March bidding for the month of April.

I got the days off I wanted on the initial PBS bid and then submitted my bid for golden days well before (days) the closing date. My first two choices were/are 18/19 April. I didn't get them. And yes, they are the first two off days in the group.

I'm pursuing this with scheduling and we will see what happens. I know of no way to see why it was denied/not awarded.

The only time I've had any denied is when I tried to put golden days in too many off day blocks. I think the max is three.

That's what I think too and that is what I tried to do, but the first 2 days of my bid were 18/19 April. I would have thought if anything was going to be denied, it would be the the 3rd, 4th choices.

This is the first time it's happened to me. I don't understand any reason for denial..............I already have the day off, we are just talking type of day off. Wouldn't normally be a big deal but these days lead into a vacation I have big plans for and having the first day off as a golden day further restricts the company from flying you into an off day.

Did you try to slide your vacation forward 2 days and add the days off after? That's worked for me on "must haves" around vacation. Forum food for thought at least.

It's a 2 week vacation that crosses into May and begins on 23 April and ends May 6. My wife and I are going on a cruise from 20 April to 7 May. Didn't think it was wise to do as you suggest. The 19th is our travel day and I threw in the 18th as an off day because that worked best for my schedule and to give myself a little cushion. I'm just trying to add to that cushion.

After I got the days off on the initial bid, I never even considered I wouldn't get them as golden as long as I put a bid in. Which I did.

Understood. Last year I had a similar over the end of the month vacation. I bought 2 days to add to the front end. I would have thought your way would have worked too.

I think now you can slide both parts of the respective vacation segments within their months. I might experiment with sliding the first part forward and then bid days off at the end of the month. Then the following month add days off at the back end to lengthen the vacation.
