Costco travel. Best rates I've seen by far.

Quote: Costco travel. Best rates I've seen by far.

I started this journey by calling Costco (Enterprise) and it was the most expensive that I've seen in years.

Mostly extra fees;

- rental ~$30 (seemed reasonable enough)
- one way charge $3.08 (seemed reasonable enough)
- taxes and other fees ~$33 (YIKES!)

Approximately $65 for a one day rental is just too expensive for this cheap pilot.

That's why I was looking for better suggestions ... I'll keep looking. It seems like Uber might be cheaper for my 2 legs?

Thanks for everybody's input.

Search Kayak (website) , see if a priceline deal shows up. Today I booked a midsize SUV for 2 weeks in Montana through Priceline. They sent me a Hertz reservation # that I confirmed at Hertz. Hertz with a standard discount was 1120 bucks. The priceline deal was for $540.

Also try Hertz with the FEDEX discount code: 1639212

Where did you guys get the Fedex discount code? Was that from the lifemart website?? Or did you get it from talking to someone at global travel? I am looking for the enterprise code.
Thanks

As a FedEx employee you can find all our discount information (cars, Hotel, air) on the intranet. On a company computer or through the iPad intranet browser type home.fedex.com On that main page, at the top find keyword search. Enter travelnet there. That will bring up the corporate business travel page. On the lower right, there is a personal travel section. You will find all the codes and information there. There are also other discounts found in lifemart and corporate perks. You can find information on that on the p.f.c site in the discounts area in general information, I think (without looking it up).

Raptor thank you so much for the help. I obviously didn’t want to ask directly for the code so you directions were great. I was able to find the code quickly on the Fedex page. FYI for others looking the perks page and LifeMart got me a whopping $14 off the regular price on my $400 rental. The Enterprise Fedex corporate code dropped it to $189.

Car rental discounts?
Many people focus on the rental price, but the most useful thing to focus while renting a car is the condition of the vehicle, service they are providing considering the amount. If you are renting a car, I would suggest comparing a few before deciding.

Casey, you do realize that you're talking to a group of pilots, don't you? Price is THE most important feature of any car rental. Just look at some of the cars out in the Democrat lot, that guys actually drive around in, that should give you an idea as to priorities. Plus the fact that most rental cars, from reputable companies, are only a year or two old, and kept in excellent condition. As well, most of us are not car mechanics. That said, not bad for your first post.
