Nancy Lynn Memorial Airport Petition

Hi all,
There's a PR class at American University working with the son of Nancy Lynn, an airshow performer many of you may be familiar with, to raise money for his college fund and also petition to change the name of the airport out of which she was based (Bay Bridge Airport in MD). I'm not in the class, but am friends with some of the people organizing this initiative, and thought I'd try to spread the word through the pilot community. If you're interested in signing the petition I'll post it word for word below, as well as a link to it.

To: The Bay Bridge Airport Board We, the undersigned, would like the board to change the name of The Queen Annes County Bay Bridge Airport in Stevensville, MD to The Nancy Lynn Memorial Airport in honor and memory of aerobatic pilot Nancy Lynn.

Nancy Lynn was a longtime resident of Annapolis. During her career as a pilot she used the Bay Bridge Airport as her home base and aerobatic flight training facility for 12 years. On October 14, 2006, Nancy Lynn lost her life in a tragic accident at the Culpeper Regional Airport in Culpeper, VA while performing her aerobatic routine at the Culpeper Air Fest.

Lynn made countless contributions to her local community. She was a standout figure on the air show circuit, as one of the few women in aerobatic flying. Furthermore, she and her son, Pete Muntean, were the only mother-son team in the industry.

As part of a Public Relations Portfolio class at American University, a group of students have made a significant effort to memorialize Nancy Lynn and muster support for Pete Muntean. This petition represents their desire to commemorate Nancy Lynns contributions to her local community and mission to inspire.

The undersigned believe that the best way to honor Nancy and celebrate her life is to change the name of the Bay Bridge Airport.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Yeah, who really needs a descriptive name like "Bay Bridge Airport" anyways?
