I think Aviationinterviews is one of the greatest sites for gouge posting, however here is my pet peeve. Everyone post it saying, "love the site, everything is right on, my interview was just like all the previous post." Well that is fine, but it is getting old to read 5-6 post down and maybe more to get to the valuable information we really want. Hopefully those who are posting can leave all the BS out. Irregardless of information that is similiar to previous post, post it anyway. Some of us, myself included don't want to spend the unneeded time sorting through unnecessary information. Most of us are on time crunched schedules and just want things straight and to the point.

Heh yeah. I was reading interviews from 2004 and 2005 to get good info, since everyone said "Previous posters were right on".

I know what ya mean.

Quit crying. You should be thankful that the site exists and that people take time out of their schedules to post their experiences.

Is it not good enough that you can develop a perfect interview blueprint and cheat sheet after twenty minutes of reading?

Good luck, a slacker like you might need it.

Why even bother with the canned interview prep? Just know the AIM, brush up on the instrument procedures, and weather. Then show up at the interview and tell the Captains you're willing to learn , just like your past 20+ years in the military show. Maybe talk about how much you enjoyed teaching since everyday / every student was a new challenge - new skills to remember / learn and pass along. Nothing a beer at the end of the day couldn't solve. Never be afraid to ask if there are areas where you can improve. If they hire you good. If not - keep slugging away.

I wasn't really using it as "canned interview prep". It's like studying for a checkride, and using the PTS standards as a guideline. They can literally ask you anything, and so to be prepared, you need to study everything...however, its nice to have an idea of the kind of stuff you should study.

I don't believe either of us were "crying" over it, or are slackers for trying to be as prepared as possible.

Save the name calling and little slanders for your high school buddies please (to Quag).

Just curious, if you are so "crunched for time" then why are you posting about the topic on a totally seperate web site? I think aviationinterviews is a good site. It's useful to get an idea of what your day could be like and like some of the interviews say, the interviewers even ask how you prepared and even they agree that reading the gouges is a good idea.

We don't publish specific interview gouge because we feel that a fully qualified applicant will do just fine in any airline interview setting in terms of technical knowledge.
