Has anyone done work with LIT FSDO in attempting to apply for a part 135 operator certificate ? Just curious about the process time lengths and anything else that makes might be helpful ?

I inquired about 5 years ago and was told it would take at least 3 years to look at the next in line, and there were several applicants already in line.
I received a part 137 in a morning though.

It may be faster and cheaper to buy and existing certificate. I occasionally see them advertised on the Anchorage craigslist and on Alaskaslist. Single pilot 135 certificates without an aircraft seem to sell for approximately $20,000 from what I’ve seen.

Bad advice.

One cannot purchase an operating certificate. However, one could purchase a company that owns an operating certificate along with the assets. But if you go this route please read the applicable guidance as you could end up having to totally recertify as if you were starting a new certificate. And if you plan on moving the certificate again it is not an easy process.

An excellent way to slow down the process, especially once the FAA figures out you are "FSDO shopping".
