Instead of using automation to compute a final 5% for 100% of eligible pilots, they've decided to manually compute a 50% payment for 10% of eligible pilots. While most pilots will be negatively affected in a small (only 5%) way, 10% of eligible pilots will receive a big benefit. Therefore, the Negotiating Committee recommended the plan and the MEC voted to endorse it.
If you're part of the fortunate 10%, you should be notified before Christmas. If you are not notified and you believe you should be part of the 10%, you should contact Contract Enforcement before New Year's Eve. An appeals process will be established to address any challenges to the selection of pilots receiving the Enhanced Bonus Benefit, or EBB. (What's a good Settlement Agreement without a new acronym?) After the EBB challenge process is complete, all non-eligible pilots will be notified of their Final Loss Of Wages, or FLOW, which they can use as proof to spouse that there will be no more bonus money. The entire process of EBB and FLOW should be complete by Christmas of 2019, or the opening of Section 6 negotiations, whichever occurs during a full moon.
