If the line you get has, say 78:30 hours (assuming you are on the Bro), during the bull$hit transition period, scheduling sticks a trip (or part of one) on days off to make sure you have over 80 hours. That's bull$hit if you ask me. It's happened to my fiancee every time he had anything under 80 hours. This last bid he had 79:30 and they gave him a 2 day (on Easter of course) during the "transition period" that brought him up to almost 90:00. WTF is the point of PBS then? I think it's time for a union over there. Oh wait! Maybe he can get a hold of SAPA and they will take care of it. NOT!

I haven't had that particular problem yet...it would be very annoying.

In case you hadn't noticed, CAL has a union and their PBS system in less than ideal as well. It has nothing to do with union/non-union.

the best part is when scheduling completely forgets about you and you end up not getting your 100 hours in time even after you call them 10 times to remind them you need to fly... well in their defense apparently their system isnt working

Good point about CAL. I know. You are right. It's other stuff that makes me think it's time for a union over there and this is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

It is very annoying especially since you hardly get a big block of days off as it is and when you do and you have less than 80 hours, you just know that the one block where you have more than 3 days is going to get a trip RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. If they need to get you up to 80, I understand that but they can at least FOR ONCE put a trip on the ends of the days off, but NO, EVERY *******ING TIME IT'S RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE.

Ok, done venting now.

How does vacation time work with bidding and PBS? Is taking vacation time seniority based as well? And do you throw it in there for the month when you bid, or is there an advanced way to notify them?

Also...how much vacation time ya get at SKYW a year?
