Narita Express to Yokohama

Does the Narita Express go straight to Yokohama, or is a change of trains necessary in Tokyo?

Also, would it be easy to find a ryokan in Yokohama that is near the main train station or in Chinatown? How about just a simple budget hotel? Currently not planning to make a reservation; just wing it.

mr vagabond and I will be there for 2 nights in early May. We didn't win the lottery, but willing to (and may actually have to) pay $250 per night for a room before heading out to catch our cruise.

Nartia express does go to Yokohama directly. Option B is google maps and take a non express train to get you there... a bit longer but not awful considering the distance and It’ll save some $$ that you could use towards the hotel.

Last time I non-revved to Japan I was able to get hotel rooms for 2 people for less than $100 in every city I visited using the ID90 Travel app. Didn’t try for a room in Tokyo but you may find deals using the app.

Here's my post trip report.

Arrived in Narita in late afternoon, but things are so nice in Japan that we were able to get some yen from an ATM, buy a ticket on the Narita Express, missed one train by just a few minutes, but still got to Yokohama before 2100 and into our room at the Breezbay resort.

The next day, we took the subway to Motomachi station to explore Chinatown. We found Osanbashi, the cruise terminal. Determined it was best to take a taxi the next day because of luggage. We ended up walking all the way back to our hotel.

Japan is fantastic. We plan to return soon and spend a month. It would be heaven to visit an onsen every day.
