Falcon Aviation Academy

So I am currently finishing up my single engine commercial at Western Michigan University. I am currently looking at finding a school to cover CFI training costs. One school that stood out to me was falcon aviation academy. I am just curious about the facilities and aircraft resources. Will I be able to fly more than 100+ hrs a month.

This is really my main concern with the whole contract that is involved with them paying for the rating. I do not want to be stuck at a school flying less than 50 hrs a month for 2 years.

Any information will be greatly appreciated

They are paying big bonuses for current CFI's to get in the door. I think that is a sign that you can fly just about as much as you want if hired in the current environment. I haven't flown with them, but they do have a nice campus and fleet, and are comprised of about 75% international students, which should help keep CFI's busy even during a decrease in domestic hiring.

I live just up the road from Falcon and fly in the area a pretty good bit. All Chinese students. Very dedicated to their learning and don't always listen very well. They are basically your typical international pilot mill. They do fly ALOT I know guys avg 80 hours a month. Cost of living is low for the area. And I think they have housing for some CFIs, it's an old crack hotel they converted over to a dorm. I've heard they can be a little pushy about signing people off for stuff. But I think that is typical for most international pilot mills. If you need more info about the area let me know.

Also just pointing this out. There is a survey company down in South Bend, does picto stuff oct-may. Does other survey work the rest of the time. I've done almost 500 hours this season and should get another 300 over the summer. If you want the info send me a message.

When I used to work there I was averaging around 100 hours per month and I know they've grown since so you should be able to do the same. Some other instructors could get upwards of 140 if they were really pushing themselves. If you want the time it's there. There is also a good culture and I would recommend it as a company to work for.

Thank you all for the good information ... I’ve contacted them a day ago and they have been getting a lot of applications since advertising the contract they offer. The secretary that I talked to said that they recieved over 350 applications Which I assume is a good sign!
