I'm just a new guy in that class, but I'd assume the LAX vacancy came from the latest bid.

Based on the most recent system bid we should be seeing it more regularly over the course of the next year. If you like redeyes and the EWR short stay hotel, LAX is the place for you.

I'm a central FL guy so I'm looking more towards a NE commute until I could possibly get down to FL. I was just curious how often LAX showed up in case it turned out to be a cross country commute. Not sure how seniority goes in class ie. age or SSN. So just thinking about the options. Thank you for the reply.

Class seniority is based on age. Plenty of BOS/JFK it seems in all the classes.

There was an east coast guy about 5 years ago forced into LGB during the last growth out there. Should be reasonably easy to avoid, I’d think, with the bulk of the growth in the northeast. But if the whole class is east coast and they need to fill a west coast vacancy, it could happen again in theory. And in the small chance it does happen, I’d think it’d be easy to trade out of fairly quickly.

It’s still a senior base, but not many west coast guys are interested in jetblue. So when there are vacancies at the bottom, there just aren’t tons of guys bidding it.

Thank you for the reply. Makes me feel a little better. Obviously end of the day if I got stuck with LAX i'd do it. But I'd also like to avoid a cross country commute. By no means would it be the end of the world if given a shot at jetblue though.

Anyone know the sizes of the last few classes, and the projections going forward? How many are being hired and are going to be hired?

They forced a few folks into LA when I was a new hire (4-5 years ago). You likely won’t have to worry about that becoming a factor. Best of luck.
