Met a Breeze manager in a SLC watering hole recently (he was wearing the approved merch hat..so I walked up).

They're coming to SLC. Interesting, as it's a hub for DAL. Unclear as to whether or not they'll be flying out of SLC proper or one of the underserved satellite airports in the metropolitan area (Provo?).

He seemed to think that direct entry A220 captains were on the table.

Take it for what it's worth. From my vantage point, I hope big D crushes them like bugs. No offense.

Never a smart move to bet against Neeleman. And he speaks the local dialect to the local elders (subtle enough?)

Can't we all just get along?

I'm sure someone convinced him that the move would be financially advantageous on some level. Personal values tend to take a backseat to profits.

Actually, it was at the time. Go search some of the original marketing stuff for the DC9. It uses the term Regional Jet.

Were you looking to argue the point? Sure, I agree. So there it is.

Pilots arguing more about Breeze not being a regional airline, than they are arguing about earning actual regional pay, pretty much sums up flying for Breeze.
