Looks like I'll be moving to LA in a couple of months. Is there any discounted parking available to commuters out of LAX? Or will I just have to rely on Uber?

employer won’t reimburse you for home town parking? If not, good luck. I don’t really know if anyone discounts for employees.

If you do decide to Uber, I had a system. The airport fees suck so I’d drop off and pick up outside of the airport zone... about $8 round trip. I’d drop my pin on Jenny just north of westchester then take the employee shuttle.

Nope, employer only pays parking in base so I've got to get creative. I'm not sure which part I'm moving to yet as we just started looking. I know there is the FlyAway bus from DTLA and Hollywood but obviously driving myself would be easiest.

Yeah, Lot F. $75/month covered parking about 1 mile from the terminal. No shuttle service. A few hotels across the street that will give you a ride if you tip the driver

Wasn’t there a parking lot where a bunch of crew members lived in RVs?

lot e I believe it was. On aviation south of century. They closed it down a couple of years ago but let people stay for a while. There were a handful of campers there for a while, but a few months ago it was completely cleared out.

the flyaway might not be a bad option. I knew and a who didn’t drive... like at all. She took the fly away pretty frequently and I don’t believe it was THAT expensive. Could be wrong.

It’s about $10 each way which isn’t outrageous but I sure wish there was an easier and cheaper option. SoCal doesn’t seems particularly commuter-friendly.

You can get a monthly pass for Van Nuys FlyAway for $120/mo and $75/mo to park there.

At LAX is Park One which is near Terminal 1. $200/mo.
